Viva Connections

Viva Connections provides a personalized gateway to your digital workplace where employees can access internal communications and company resources like policies and benefits and participate in communities like employee resource groups, all from a single customizable app in Microsoft Teams.

Viva Connections is built on Microsoft 365 capabilities like SharePoint to provide a curated and branded employee destination.

Leaders can connect with employees via company town halls, and employees can access everything from company news, policies, and benefits to employee resource groups or communities they want to join with Microsoft Viva’s integration to Yammer.

It provides a personalized feed and dashboard to help you find all the helpful resources you need from Microsoft Viva and from other apps across your digital workplace. The content can also be customized for specific roles within the company—including frontline workers—so that they have a comprehensive view of just the resources they need.

Viva Connections - New components

Viva Connection is available to all existing Microsoft 365 and SharePoint licenses. With Viva Connection there are (…or will soon come) some new components:

Dashboard

  • New SharePoint Web part and SharePoint pages (extensible to fit business needs)
  • Comprehensive view of everything needed, minimizing the time spend away from doing core task
  • Designed to be the central destination where everyone can discover company resources and complete tasks
  • Find helpful resources, such as training, benefits, or timecards, in the dashboard
  • Customize resources for different employee groups, such as frontline workers
  • Use low-code solutions such as Microsoft Power Apps to custom solutions or use SharePoint Framework (SPFx) or Adaptative Cards

Feed

  • Graph based unified and personalized feed
  • Target specific departments, regions, or job roles within your organization by using audience targeting
  • Bring employees’ attention to items in their feeds with boost based on properties

Resources
