Copilot agents
What is Copilot agents?
Copilot agents refer to a suite of advanced capabilities within Microsoft Copilot Studio, designed to create or extend Copilot experiences with enterprise data and scenarios. These agents can act as independent entities that are triggered by events rather than just conversations, allowing them to automate and orchestrate complex, long-running business processes with minimal human intervention. For example, they can manage IT support tasks, assist with employee onboarding, and serve as personal concierges for sales and service, remembering customer preferences and handling reservations or complaints. This evolution of copilots signifies a shift from tools that work alongside humans to tools that work on behalf of them, handling specific roles across various industries to improve efficiency and productivity.
