What is Energy-efficient computing?

Energy-efficient computing, also known as green computing, focuses on reducing the energy consumption of computing systems while maintaining or enhancing their performance. This involves using low-power processors, power management techniques like dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS), sleep modes, and efficient task scheduling. The goal is to minimize the environmental impact of computing, especially in data centers and other energy-intensive facilities, by optimizing both hardware and software to use less energy and generate less heat.
