- Snippet from Wikipedia: SearchGPT
SearchGPT is a prototype search engine developed by OpenAI, it launched on 26 July, 2024. It combines traditional search engine features with generative AI capabilities. The search feature positions the company as a direct competitor to major search engines, notably Google and Bing, the latter being a product of OpenAI’s largest investor, Microsoft. SearchGPT was first introduced as a prototype in a limited release to 10,000 test users. As of mid-August 2024 the wait-list for SearchGPT has closed. OpenAI ultimately intends to incorporate the search features into ChatGPT.
OpenAI announced its partnership with publishers for SearchGPT, providing them with options on how their content appears in the search results and ensuring the promotion of trusted sources.
