SearchGPT is a prototype search engine developed by OpenAI, it launched on 26 July, 2024. It combines traditional search engine features with generative AI capabilities. It aims to give users “fast and timely answers with clear and relevant sources.” According to The Wall Street Journal, SearchGPT is "taking direct aim at Google."
SearchGPT was first introduced as a prototype in a limited release. There are plans to integrate it into ChatGPT.
